The Dubai story does not stop at Burj Khalifa. The city is now getting ready for new iconic tower that will be 'a notch taller than Burj Khalifa'.
Named the Dubai Creek Harbour project yet, five of the world's leading architects have been given the task of creating something truly spectacular that will become yet another symbol of Dubai's record-breaking achievements.
The announcements was made at a glittering press conference that gave details of Santiago Calatrava’s lily-bud inspired The Tower, an iconic tower that will be the centrepiece of the Dubai Creek Harbour project. The Tower will set a new benchmark for architectural engineering in the world.
Reflecting the theme for ‘growth, progress and the possibilities of tomorrow’, the Tower will further add to the attraction of Dubai as an international tourist destination.
The top of the iconic structure, will be a 360 degree viewing deck, known as The Pinnacle Room, while the VIP Observation Decks will ‘recreate the splendour of the Hanging Gardens Of Babylon’, one of the Seven Wonders of the ancient world.
The final height of the tower has not yet been announced – and might remain closely guarded secret until the final day of the opening. Even the Burj Khalifa's final height was announced at the last minute when it was hailed as the 'world's tallest' in 2010.
One of the unique features of The Tower will be the extended balconies that will rotate around the tower, and the structural core and tension cables will be gently and dynamically illuminated. As a result, The Tower will be visible for miles around.
The Tower will undoubtedly be a piece of art and will be built using the most advanced engineering technologies known to man and is expected to be one of the most impressive skyscrapers ever built.
